Our Story
I started Lake Area Glass & Mirror Inc. on April 1st, 1985, after spending years learning the glass trade from the ground up. My journey began as an apprentice in Fort Lauderdale, where I learned not just how to install glass, but how to cut it, shape it, and understand the material itself. When my parents moved to Starke, I followed shortly after, bringing what I had learned with me and building a life and business here in Northern Florida.
In the early days, I worked alongside a few close friends in local glass shops, doing every part of the job by hand. Back then, if you worked in glass, you cut it yourself. You learned precision, patience, and pride in your workmanship. Over the years, the industry has changed, but those fundamentals have stayed with me. Being able to custom cut glass in house is something that still sets our company apart today.
I have always believed in keeping the business well managed and intentionally sized. By avoiding large overhead, I am able to offer fair pricing, stay hands on with every project, and make sure each job is done correctly. I personally price every job and work closely with a trusted team that has grown with the company over the years.
We have worked on just about every type of glass project you can imagine, including custom shower doors, mirrors and mirror walls, insulated and single pane glass repair, custom cut glass, table tops, storefront doors and windows, and custom screen work. No two projects are the same, and I approach each one as a custom solution rather than a standard install.
Serving the Northern Florida communities is something I truly value. While we often work with contractors wherever the job takes us, I take pride in the relationships we have built locally and the trust our customers place in us.
At the end of the day, my goal is simple. I want every customer to feel confident that their project will be done right. We are easy to work with, reliable, and committed to quality craftsmanship. Family values matter to me, and I believe in treating people the way I would want to be treated. When you work with Lake Area Glass & Mirror, you can expect honest service, great workmanship, and a company that stands behind its work.
